Silver Dollars are often
the starting point for coin collecting. They are
well known. They are large and some are extremely
valuable. Many coin collections start with a silver
dollar as a present. That is how my coin collection
started and my son's as well. That large silver
coin always seems to fascinate everyone.
The Silver Dollar was
first minted in 1794. It was made from 89% silver
and later was minted in 90% silver. In 1935 the
production of the Silver Dollar stopped.
Just like other coins
the Silver Dollar has some variations.
