Old Silver Coins Found

Collecting old coins is a fascinating hobby and for some it can become a passion. Finding these old coins can be difficult. You need to think outside of the box and forget about the traditional methods of finding old coins like auctions or coin shops.

Metal detecting is a great way to find collectible coins. You just never know what you will find. Another great place to find some good coins are garage sales and estate sales. Sometimes people do not know what they are getting rid of at these sales. Another great place to find some old coins are banks. You would not think that a bank would have old coins but they do. You can get rolled coins from the bank in any denomination and find collectibles in each.

Half dollars are a great start. Quite a few banks do not even carry these in rolls anymore so if you find some get them all because you just never know what might be under those paper rolls.

Check out Jim's amazing story of finding some old silver coins. He goes into a bank on his lunch hour and scores big, very big! He finds a bank that has $370 in half dollars, all rolled and he takes them all. When he gets to his car he starts to open them and to his surprise 90% of them are old silver half dollars. They range from Walker Half dollars to Benjamin Franklin half dollars with very few clad in between. That's a lot of old silver coins!
