There is no other coin
made in the united states with a lower face value
than that of a half cent, but don't let that fool
you. The half cent is a rare coin and a must have
for any coin collection. These coins can go for
top dollar at auction and make a great investment.
Some versions of the half cent can be difficult
to find for your collection.
It was struck from 1793
to 1857 and it is made from 100 percent copper.
One of few American coins to be made from 100
% copper. All Half cents were minted at the Philadelphia
Mint and none of them have mint marks. It is just
a little bit smaller than a modern quarter and
it's weight was changed several times through
out the years.
