Coin Errors

Over the years there have been millions of coins produced by the United States Government and other countries. It would only make sense that there is the occasional error during minting. These error coins are a great addition to any coin collection and really only have any value amongst collectors. Prices for these error coins can vary depending on the current coin market and what collectors want.

When a coin leaves the mint, it leaves in large bags or rolls and goes right to the bank or coin counters. These folks were the ones who would find these error coins and then sell them to collectors. In 2002 the United States changed the way new coins were handled and virtually eliminated any error coins. Any error coins 2002 and above will be on any collectors top wanted list due to the scarcity of these particular error coins. There are thousands of error coins out there but here are some of the most common types.
