Pieces of eight should be in every coin collection. They tell a history like no other. Pirate money. Stolen booty. If the 8 Reale could talk it would tell a story greater than any Hollywood movie.

These coins are often found by modern day treasure hunters. They can be found in the sea or washed up on the beach, where they have laid buried in the sand for over 300 years.

There are quite a few fakes Reales floating around so make sure you research your seller before making a purchase. Most of the Reales are in pretty bad shape but that is what makes them so valuable. Some of them are still encrusted from their long slumber beneath the ocean.
