The 2 cent piece was first
introduced in 1864. It was made from the same
materials as the small cent
or penny. It was a short lived coin and was
the first coin to feature the motto In God We
Trust. It is very close in size to a modern quarter,
only it is slightly smaller.
Just like most coins there
were some variations with the two cent piece.
Here are the Variations. In 1864 there was a two
cent piece with a small motto and a 2 cent piece
with a large motto. A double die two cent piece
appeared in 1867. If you don't know what a double

coins section. In 1873 there were also a couple
of variations to the 2 cent piece.
